About the IELTS Exam
The IELTS comes in 2 flavours: IELTS General and IELTS Academic. The IELTS general is intended for individuals who wish to emigrate to English speaking countries for work or other reasons, and the IELTS academic is intended for students who wish to pursue higher education abroad.
Irrespective of the flavours, the IELTS consists of four sections: reading, writing, listening and speaking. These are conducted over over two days, with reading, listening and writing conducted on one and speaking conducted on another.
The IELTS is scored between 0 to 9 Bands for each sections. A score of 7 is considered a good score.
